We invite you to work through the imbalances in your life to reach a state of happy and healthy!

Laurie Solomon

Laurie Solomon has been fascinated with learning about non-allopathic remedies for ways our bodies get out-of-balance since she was very young.

She found out from a wise older woman at the age of 15, that if one is not allergic to bee stings (and even if one is), a raw onion cut in half within 3-5 minutes of the sting, and then scored along the cut edge, can be placed on a bee sting for 20 minutes, to counteract the formic acid, reducing the inflammation resulting from that sting, even when on the way to the hospital for those who are allergic to bees. She discovered that Jewel Weed counteracts the sting left when coming into contact with Stinging Nettle when she was 16, and along the way many other remedies have added to her healing options.

Laurie started riding horses at the age of 4. Growing up around horses and other animals, she admired the people that could help injured animals and nurture them back to a healthy state.  After working with thoroughbreds at racetracks in Ontario she considered becoming a veterinarian, but realized her true calling when she moved to the Seattle area and enrolled at Bastyr University to study Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1996.

In 2000 Laurie earned a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Austin TX and returned to the Pacific Northwest to open a practice here. She remains dually licensed in both Washington and Oregon, but her primary practice has been in Battle Ground, Washington since 2001.

Over the years, many conditions have responded well in Laurie’s clinic to acupuncture therapy. Some of the more notable conditions include: Neurological complaints including migraines and sciatica; Rehabilitation for post-stroke or post-spinal cord injury, easing withdrawal from addictive opiates/anti-anxiety medications, calming PTSD and anxiety; Acute (recent) pain complaints; Hormonal imbalance; Digestive Imbalances –  especially morning sickness, IBS, and acid reflux; Respiratory dysfunction, as well as many genito-urinary complaints.

Laurie especially has enjoyed working with the elderly, and helping relieve side-effects from cancer treatment.

Laurie learned how to bill insurance companies while working with the wonderful folks at Nu-Life, and continues to bill most insurance companies directly, so that people are only responsible to cover the share their insurance company contract requires. She works on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and is happy to refer out for many conditions, and so invites people to call on those days she isn’t working to discuss whether their imbalance may benefit from her therapies or from some other type of care.
